Shivaji University was founded on 18 November 1962 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. Shivaji University was introduced by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India. Shivaji University is named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was the founder of the Maratha Empire.
